The theme at this party was Strawberry Shortcake. As we do not make any branded cakes, that are not my own,I look for other details within the theme and concentrate on those. Kitties, hearts, polka dots and strawberries.The finishes were all done in Pettinice.

The cake was made for the adults which was a Flaked Almond Sponge, set strawberry mousse, covered in white ganache.

Matilda has been with my family for 27 years. She was originally my domestic helper and then later on became my baker. She bakes all our sponges, makes ganaches, and assited me in making the Ebony and Ivory van der Hum Chocolate mousse for this wedding cake. She does not often get to finish off the wedding cakes. Heaviest wedding cake in 11 years!

Looks can be deceiving.

This two tier 3P(Pecan, Pumpkin and Pineapple cake weighed 14 kgs once completed. It is a very moist cake that is jam packed with Butternut, Pecan nuts and crushed pineapple.  White ganache finish with Belgian chocolate surrounding cakes. It was transported on a luggage trolley when it reached the venue.
