“OUR STAR BAKER”
This week was an exciting one for Matilda, my baker. She came third (missing second place by one point) in The Benoni City Times, “Bake a Cake” competition. Well done Matilda, you deserved that win. She baked our busiest cake, “The Tumbles”. Enjoy your prize.
HAPPY 5th BIRTHDAY GRACE
Once again we were privileged to do Grace’s birthday cake and party food. She chose a Fairy theme this year which included fairy colours, pink and lilac. The base cake was a Tumbles with white chocolate ganache and a Belgian chocolate picket fence. The cookies were for the children. Cake for the adults. The fairy was for Grace.
CONGRATULATIONS ON CARMEN’S FIRST HOLY COMMUNION
Barbara did this beautiful praying little girl for Carmen’s First Holy Communion. Barbara is our specialist German baker who has been part of the Miz Gooz Berry team for many years, working independently and seasonally for us. She will be assisting us with more and more Pettinice work , cakes and cookies.
MOTHER’S DAY PICNIC BASKETS
Two Willow picnic baskets for Mother’s, collected this morning.
“CHOCOLATE HEAVEN”
An Ebony and Ivory van Der Hum Chocolate Mousse Cake with a decadent topping. Happy Birthday Dick and Leatitia.
Thank you for yet another opportunity to make your cake .
QUICK PETTINICE ROSES
Flowers were so expensive this weekend, so we improvised and made our own edible roses for this cupcake order.
We were so busy on Saturday morning that I did not get to photographing the rest of the orders for the Holy Communion functions, birthdays and baby showers.
“NEW DIRECTIONS” FEATURE IN WOMAN & HOME MAGAZINE
JUNE ISSUE
I said that I would let you know which magazine has done the feature on Miz Gooz. It is the Woman & Home . It will be available from 10 May, tomorrow. It is the June issue. Thank you to Julia for writing an article that sounds the way I speak. I proof read part on the article before it went to print and a friend already received her magazine and has read the article. She said that it sounds exactly the way I speak. I have not seen the full article as yet.
